For local businesses
Get in front of your neighbors
BigCityLocals shows people what’s happening in their part of San Francisco each week. Sponsor your neighborhood and your business is part of that, seen by locals close enough to walk in.
Founding sponsors: first month free
We’re choosing a handful of businesses across the city to start with. Try it for a month, see the numbers, then decide.
What you get
A featured spot in your neighborhood’s feed
Your business appears as a card among the week’s events for the neighborhood you choose, clearly labeled Sponsored, with your photo, one line and a link.
A mention in the Monday email
Our “This week in your neighborhood” digest goes out every Monday morning to locals who asked for it.
An Instagram feature
We include you in one of our weekend or midweek posts during the month.
A simple monthly report
At the end of each month we email you how many people saw your spot and clicked through.
How it works

Common questions
What does it cost?
Founding sponsors get their first month free. After that it’s a flat monthly rate, locked in for six months, with no long contract. Reply to our email and we’ll send the details.
How many sponsors per neighborhood?
One business per category per neighborhood (one restaurant, one bar, one gym, and so on), so you’re never competing with the place next door in the same spot.
What do I need to send?
One photo, one sentence about your business, and the link you want people to visit. We build the card for you. An offer for our readers (like “mention BigCityLocals for a free appetizer”) is optional but helps.
Will it feel like an ad?
We keep it light on purpose: never more than one sponsored card on a screen, always labeled, no pop-ups and no tracking scripts. BigCityLocals is about what’s happening near you, and sponsors are local places that are part of that.
