In the Lounge we're super excited to have Spooki commanding the decks. Hailing from the small island of Kauai, Spooki delivers an uplifting array of self produced Disco, House, and Dance music. Inspired by his island roots, his songs often take heavy influence from the upbeat and groovy sounds of the 60’s and 70’s. After seeing success in his remixes, Spooki has dove even deeper into the world of Disco music - launching the ‘Higher Spirits’ record label to help put the spotlight on emerging artists and keep listeners moving throughout the night. As the man behind the infectious Global Grooves events in SF, On The Rocks is a student of international disco funk. Latin vibes? Yup. Late 70’s Afro-Disco? Yessir. Classic 80’s funk? Uh-huh. The groove is gonna get you. Pulling from sources old and new, Huffy is a fan of all things fun, funky, gritty and groovy! Deep Disco House vibes always shine through. He is a founding resident of Bump! who also holds down a residency at Phonobar and recently played Public Works in SF. Downstairs, its a Rocky Mountain Takeover as DANCE! and Isobel + Kevin Zolitor from Denver join vRok in spinning downstairs. Dance! brings together a collage of music with nods to the past, while always evolving and searching for music from the future. Dance! is a genre-bending experience, from the grooves of downtempo, a passion for four-on-the-floor, and all the way up to the chaos of drum and bass. Always underground first, with elements of pop woven throughout, with a love and focus on playing vibey, feel-good music.
