About

Join us for an afternoon screening of Abbas Kiarostami’s And Life Goes On (1992). In the aftermath of a 1990 earthquake that left 30,000 dead, director Abbas Kiarostami returned to the village of Koker—and so begins this playful, poignant road movie, following a director (a stand-in for Kiarostami himself) who makes the difficult trek to find out if the young star of his 1987 film Where is the Friend’s House? survived. Moving through devastation and teeming life alike, the film finds beauty in the bleakest of circumstances, its poetic landscape compositions and layering of fiction within reality placing it in close dialogue with GaHee Park’s own art—her seriality, her variations, her quiet insistence on looking. Enjoy the film and themed snacks as part of this series inspired by GaHee Park’s exhibition Behind the Curtain. Come early or stay late to visit our galleries—free admission is included with your ticket!
