Limp Wrapper Coptic Sewn Binding You will explore the Coptic binding style with a limp wrapper cover. This is a beginner to intermediate bookbinding workshop where you will fold, collate, trim and Coptic sew a text block—then cover it with a limp wrapper. Coptic stitching is one of the oldest know bookbinding methods originating in the 2nd century. It utilizes a chain stitch allowing pages to lay flat. Coptic bindings can be sewn through a hardcover but can also be covered with a limp wrapper, which is one piece of paper wrapped around the text block, with the first and last page tucked into the cover.
