During the run of the special exhibition, we will have regular screenings of a new featurette, Happiest Place on Earth: Walt’s Disneyland (2025), produced by guest curator and Disney Legend Don Hahn. This exclusive documentary traces the creation and early years of Disneyland through Walt Disney’s own words and features rare archival interview footage. (Runtime: 26 minutes) All 1pm theater screenings of this featurette will be sensory-friendly. To make this film a comfortable experience for all, lights will be dimmed instead of off, volume will be slightly lowered, and closed captioning will be turned on. Guests are welcome to get up, walk around, and enjoy the featurette in whatever way is most comfortable to them.

Storytelling is a centuries-old human tradition and the ability to effectively tell stories through visual and written media is a powerful asset. This course is intended for students interested in learning how to develop both visual and written forms of storytelling and how to incorporate them both into artistic endeavors, including children’s books and graphic novels.

Color is interwoven in all aspects of our lives. Whether it is an intricate mural or a simple sticky note, color plays a very important role in how we visualize certain subjects. In this six-week intensive class, learn about how to use different color schemes and apply fundamental coloring techniques to characters and environments to set the mood.
